| Unless specified as Families, Friends & Observers Welcome (old term was Open), all meetings are Family & Friends Only (old term was Closed). Explanation as follows: Family & Friends Only: A meeting that is available for Al-Anon members and prospective members only. Anyone who has been affected by someone else's drinking is welcome. Families, Friends & Observers Welcome: A meeting that welcomes observers seeking information about Al-Anon such as professionals, medical personnel, students, reporters, etc., as well as newcomers and members of Al-Anon. *ALATEEN is open to teens 18 years of age and under. Adults are not permitted to attend unless they are qualified Alateen group sponsors An Al-Anon meeting may choose to be Families, Friends & Observers Welcome by the consent of its participants. Such a meeting allows attendance by people who are not families and friends of alcoholics but who are interested in learning about Al-Anon Family Groups. People who may come to Families, Friends & Observers Welcome Al-Anon meetings occasionally include students and professionals who work with alcoholics and their families. |
